Sawyer: 11 months

Hudson's favorite thing to do is to play outside! There have been more beautiful days in 2012 then not, which makes me change my mind about January and February (have always been my least favorite months of the year). We have been going to the park a lot and on walks when I can get Hudson to sit in the stroller!

after a couple of rough weeks at home.

we met my cousin Meg and her two girls down in the Woodlands for a fun morning.
Hudson LOVED it!
And I always love a cupcake!
We will definitely being going back!

Hudson knew all about Valentines Day this year.

I guess they had been talking about it a lot at MDO!
I've been dealing with a yucky cold for almost 2 weeks now
and just didn't feel like attempting any pinterest goodies or valentines.
So, I picked up mini cupcakes from whole food's last night.
I figured that 2-year-olds would appreciate that the cupcakes were made using cage-free
eggs and no hydrogenated oils as much as anybody else!
About the same time I realized, oh ya, this is a valentines party, maybe Hudson would want
to give his friends some cards.
Luckily, my neighbor had some left overs.
I quickly wrote "from Hudson" on about 10 Thomas the Train and Littlest Pet Shop Valentines.

my big boy

I just look at this little boy sometimes and think "wow, you look so big." I don't notice until I really just stop and look at him. He's growing up so fast-wearing size 3t clothes, talking in sentences, sleeping on a nap mat (never thought that would happen!). I fall more in love with him everyday, that's for sure. Days are tough with a strong-willed toddler, but at the end of the day, when you see some fruit from all your work-or when he wants to read "God's book" or asks to say a prayer or wants me to rock him, it's all worth the "no's" and the constant fussing. I have to remember that this age is hard for him too. He wants to communicate better and do more. It's so fun because he is suddenly paying attention to EVERYTHING around him. I talk to him and tell him something once, and he remembers! He's very teachable-they all are at this age. I love seeing him learning. I started putting Sawyer down for bed earlier and Hudson later. This way, I get some sweet one-on-one time with just Hudson. It's just like old times =) We read tons of books, and sing songs, and he does lots of stalling haha! He is a gift, and I thank God everyday that I get to be his mommy and love on him.

it's weird to think that i'm in my late twenties. i never would have thought i would be married with two children at this age. i'm sure i hoped i would be. i am truly blessed! thanks for the phone calls, texts, & fb wall love. my sweet mother came into town tuesday afternoon to hang out. i always spend my birthdays with her. we always drink lots of starbucks when she's here, and just hang out at the house. i get some nice breaks from the babies too. it was another great birthday! xo

park mornings

i feel like i've been telling Hudson that "we can't go outside because it's too hot" forever now. poor little guy. this morning we were able to get up and ready and out of the house before 9 to head to the park. we went to a little, quaint park tucked in the beautiful neighborhood of west u. the park was completely shaded and had lots of grassy areas to have a picnic-so we did! did i forget to mention that we stopped by crave cupcakes on the way there to pick up some "breakfast cupcakes"? we did, and they were amazing! the park was a little outdated haha, so i'm not sure we will be going back anytime soon. all it was missing was one of those merry-go-rounds!check out the vintage playground equipment
